“Suffs” brings to the stage the struggle and dedication of women’s suffragists in the last years before adoption of the 19th Amendment, revealing the conflicts between the Women’s Movement Old Guard and younger, less patient and more radical activists. “Suffs” is a creative tour de force by Shaina Taub, who played the lead role of Alice Paul, as well as writing the book, score and lyrics for the show. The show won two awards at the 77th Annual Tony Awards (Original Score and Book of a Musical). Co-Producers Hillary Rodham Clinton and Malala Yousafzai join Lead Producers Jill Furman & Rachel Sussman and others for this timely, important story.
