Come dressed for a day at camp

Here’s the day in brief:

Start your morning with coffee and coffeecake – for a sweet new year.
Following a shofar blast – we will walk to the outdoor chapel for a Rosh Hashanah “Camp” service.

There will be two rounds of “Camp Programming” on the theme of creation (separated by a BBQ lunch on the lawn and picnic tables) after our hour long service.

Planned activities include:

  • Primordial drum circle (recreate the sounds of creation with drums) with John from Drumtime
  • Take a 7 Days of creation hike to the menorah
  • When God created people – they danced! (Israeli Dance)
  • Yoga – a chance to connect your body to your mind and to appreciate the blessings in your life
  • Creation began with light – and with light we bring in Shabbat – Candle Making
  • God created the world  –make “Edible creation dessert”
  • A Reflection Project – a family conversation to set intentions for the coming year
  • Sports – soccer, basketball and gaga
  • And, of course an option to do nothing but relax, read, listen to music and to reflect on creation
  • Then, at about 2pm, we will walk to the beach for Tashlich – where we will conclude the day with a brief ceremony and cast our sins into the water
