Seudah Shlishit

1. (seh-oo-DAH shlee-SHEET) noun The third of three Shabbat meals named in the Torah, which takes place on Saturday afternoon.

Seudah Shlishit Selichot

Join your clergy for a very special Selichot seudah shlishit: a time for reflection, refreshment, and relationship that will set the tone for the High Holy Day season to come. Seudah shlishit is a traditional Shabbat afternoon “nosh" that will take on more meaning on this day, as it falls on Selichot. Gather in the late afternoon for a light meal and a dynamic conversation - nourishment for your body and soul. Fill your cup, inspire your mind, and prepare for the heartfelt and inspirational Selichot service that follows.

This year’s conversation will center on the 2016 television series The Good Place, starring Ted Danson & Kristin Bell. The Good Place is a surprisingly philosophical, bittersweet musing on the beauty of letting go, the importance of creating a legacy, and the impact that our actions have on the world around us. We'll watch an episode and discuss how the characters, story, and theme resonate with Jewish ideas and ethics -and then stay for a traditional, candlelight Selichot service.

Event is FREE.

Registration is required.
