Tashlich
Community, fun, and ritual.
Sunday, September 17 @ 9am at Malibu Creek State Park, 1925 Las Virgenes Road, Calabasas, CA 91302

This Sunday at Malibu Creek State Park, our clergy invites you to choose from two unique opportunities to observe Tashlich!  Those who enjoy some outdoor activity with their learning, may join Rabbi Cantor Wissot for an easy 1-hour, out-and-back hike and study session.  Those who prefer a more restful experience should bring their own chairs & join Rabbi Aaronson for a separate study session without the hike. Afterwards, we will all join together for a moving Tashlich ceremony.

FEE:  This event is free, but registration is required. There may be a small fee for parking at the park.

TIMING: Please allow time to arrive, park and meet as hikers will depart by 9-9:05 & study session will begin at that time.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Cash for parking
  • Hat, sunscreen, bug spray, comfy shoes for hiking
  • A folding chair for study [No seating is provided at the site]
  • Snacks and water for all

WHERE TO MEET:  There is an entrance to the park, and a guard/ ranger gate where folks need to pay cash for the day for parking fee.  Once you enter the park, there’s a lot on the left, drive past that, and the next lot on the left has a sign “Main Trailhead Parking.”  That is where we’ll park.  Across the road from there on the right is the main trailhead, which is where you will study and from where the hike will depart. There will be signage.

DIRECTIONS:  The park is located four miles south of Highway 101 on Las Virgenes/Malibu Canyon Road. 1925 Las Virgenes Road, Calabasas, CA 91302. From the 101 exit on Las Virgenes Road. Go south on Las Virgenes Rd. (towards the ocean). Continue straight. The park entrance will be on the right, a little past the Mulholland Dr. intersection.
