Sharsheret Women's Health Night

Wednesday, March 6, 2024 26 Adar I 5784

7:30 PM - 9:30 PMTemple Judea

"Temple Judea is proud to partner again with Sharsheret (The Jewish Breast & Ovarian Cancer Community) for Women's Health Night.  Create a take home item (TBD) to bake at home. Hear updates in cancer prevention and research, genetic testing,  and how it impacts your family from our guest speakers: Dr. Taaly Silberstein, a Tarzana board certified OBGYN, and Jessica Queller -- author of the acclaimed memoir "Pretty is What Changes", member of the Basser Center for BRCA Advisory Board, and Temple Judea member. This will be an evening of fun, learning, and we all go home with a yummy treat to bake!

1 in 40 Ashkenazi Jews - men and women - are carriers of the BRCA gene mutation, as well as other genetic mutations linked to an increased risk for breast, ovarian, prostate, melanoma, and pancreatic cancers. Come and learn more about how these cancers may impact you and steps you can take to be proactive about the health of you and your family. Sharsheret, a national non-profit organization, helps all people and families facing breast cancer, ovarian cancer and those with hereditary risk for cancer through personalized support and educational outreach. Visit sharsheret.org for more information. "
