Each month we discuss a different book on Zoom!
This month, join us for a discussion of THE WIND KNOWS MY NAME, by Isabel Allende
Samuel Adler was 6 years old when his father disappeared during Kristallnacht – the night the family lost everything. Samuels mother secured a spot for him on the last Kindertransport train out of Nazi-occupied Austria to the UK, which he boarded alone, carrying nothing but a change of clothes and his violin. In 2019, eight decades later, a social worker, Selena Duran, enlists the help of a promising young lawyer from a top San Francisco law firm to assist her with an immigrant child from El Salvador who was separated from her mother at the border. Together they find that the child, Anita Diaz, has a family member living in northern California as a housekeeper in the home of Samuel Adler, linking these two lives, spanning time and space.
