Temple Judea's 2024 Mitzvah Day!

Mitzvah Day Activities 10:30am-12:30pm & Blood Drive 9am-3pm

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and turn your Jewish values into action!  This opportunity only comes once a year, and it’s not just for Social Action committee members - EVERYONE is invited to come and participate!  We have many mitzvot for many hands - from young to old and everyone in between. 
Mitzvah Day is a chance to get together with your TJ family for fun focused on social action projects and donation collections that demonstrate our core Jewish values.

We will be collecting the following items for donation: 

1) Travel sized toiletries

2) Kid's Costume Drive

3) Book Drive (New or gently used books)

Here's a highlight of some of our partner organizations & activities:

• Writing letters to IDF soldiers
• Reclaim Our Vote: Non-partisan voter outreach &  postcard writing campaign
• School on Wheels - Book drive, creating bookmarks, & packing pencil cases for students
• Family Rescue Center - Packing feminine hygiene kits (WTJ donating protein packs and diapers)
• LA Jewish Health - Packing hygiene kits and creating bookmarks for residents
• Deity Dog Rescue - Packing Skid Row "Doggie Bags" with treats, kibble, and dog toys
• The Assisted Living Specialist - Creating fleece blankets
• Hope the Mission
• Religious School Families, join us in the Goor Sanctuary at 10am as our teens present their final tzedek projects in the Social hall. They'll also share experiences and insights about the various social justice issues they've explored and the ways they've identified to make a positive impact in the world. This a fantastic opportunity to engage in meaningful, multi-generational conversations about social justice.
