Sayva presents A New Season with Ilana Jaffe-Lewis

Tuesday, February 13, 2024 4 Adar I 5784

10:00 AM - 11:30 AMTemple Judea

A New Season: A program of the Jewish Studio Project combining Jewish text and art with the goal of inward and outward insight

With every milestone, we have new goals, new things to grieve or celebrate, and new questions to consider. In what ways has my sense of personhood evolved over time? To what extent can I create who I become in this new season? What else could my 'one wild and precious life' be?

Using the Jewish Studio Process we will explore these questions and others. This will be a 90 minute session. No art experience is necessary. This program is designed to meet people where they are at.

Facilitator: Ilana Jaffe-Lewis is a Teaching Artist and Jewish Studio Project Facilitator. She is the Founder of The Mothers' Studio and lives in Los Angeles, California with her husband, son, and dog.

The Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles has awarded a grant to a partnership of community institutions (Temple Judea, Temple Ramat Zion, Valley Beth Shalom and L.A. Jewish Health- formerly Jewish Home for the Aging) to create SAYVA. Sayva means wisdom, sagacity, depth. The goal of SAYVA is to provide educational, recreational, community-building and wellness programming to hundreds of older adults. The goal of SAYVA is to make later adulthood interesting and purposeful - a time to be celebrated and cherished. The programming of SAYVA is meant to complement the communities of seniors which already exist and have been providing meaningful programs for so long.
